Sea View Cottage now Sleeps Five

Looking for short breaks UK? As of Friday 17th May 2024, Sea View Cottage added a further single bed on the second floor. So we are now offically a five person house!

The bed is a wooden frame bed, exactly the same type and model as the other beds at this level. And we’ve fitted it with the same Dormeo Memory Plus memory foam mattress. We’ve also provided a Beva ‘power cube’ adaptor on the bedside cabinet. Apart from mains power, this also provides 5v power to up to 3 USB devices.

Obviously 3 persons sharing one bedroom doesn’t work for eveybody. But undoubtedly it’ll work for some families, particularly those seeking short breaks UK.  In fact we already have our first booking from a five person family who have booked a week in August! Interestingly, since September 2023 we have used Price Labs dynamic pricing to set our rates. Price Labs takes account of the number of bedrooms, not the number of beds. Therefore, not only will our prices remain unchanged, but 5 people staying in a 2 bedroom property may cost you a lot less than staying in a 3+ bedroom property.

Before assembling the bed we removed and disposed of the existing sofa bed (something and nothing in our opinion) . We also carried out roof repairs to one side of the roof window at this level and replaced the damaged plasterboard ceiling under. So all that plus a bit of local decoration and the whole room has been transformed!
