This page is devoted to our little four legged friends who abolutely love staying at Sea View Cottage, Portland – Woff Woff !

Dogs are made very welcome at Sea View Cottage and on the Isle of Portland generally. Currently we don’t claim our cottages for dogs provide a secure environment for dogs, but neither do we charge extra for dogs. The rear sun deck and viewing platform is dog secure. However the front garden, although walled on all sides, is only semi-secure in that a determined dog could escape under the front gate or over the flat roof of the kichen. Nevertheless, many owners who brought their dogs with them in between 2019 and 2021 didn’t have a problem with security (see reviews below).

Victoria Gardens, Portland

Importantly though, our cottages for dogs are just a stone’s throw from Victoria Gardens (see image left) where dogs can be excercised and unpleasant substances disposed of in appropriate bins. And many cafes, restaurants and pubs on Portland are dog friendly. Check out one of the reviews below where a guest say they have never found anywhere as dog friendly as Portland.

When we know dogs are visiting, we put out a dog blanket under the stairs in the dining area, and a couple of dog bowls can be found under the sink. We have been known to leave a few doggy treats too!

Two’s company, three’s a crowd.

We allow a maximum of two dogs (but not on the furniture please). If you’ve three or more dogs we would encourage you to look elsewhere.

No dogs? No problem!

If you don’t have dogs, it’s no problem. Our cottages for dogs are cleaned within an inch of their life between lets so there should be no trace of them when you check in.

Love the cottage, location, views and pretty much everything your other guests have said. The bed was really comfy! The week before we came the weather was amazing so we were thinking it was going to be a washout but actually we ended up having some really lovely days. We have had many dog holidays over the past 20 years and I have to say we have never found anywhere as dog friendly – in fact friendly no matter what!

We enjoyed some fish n chips at the local chippie Graham and Lizzie recommended & loved visiting The Ship for a pint (or 2!)

We had a wonderful time at Seaview Cottage. All the little touches made our break even better. Chester especially loved the treat left for him & walks along the beach. Views are incredible, only wished we had stayed longer.
